Karen is the director of the Residential Energy Services program at NYSERDA. The program uses a whole house approach to energy efficiency in new and existing homes, seeks to expand the use of renewable energy systems and advanced technologies, and includes specific programs for lower-income households. The program relies on mid-stream and upstream partnerships, and supports those relationships with a strong workforce development initiative. The program also drives consumer demand through education and offers low-interest financing. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) and the National Home Performance Council (NHPC.) She has been with NYSERDA for 19 years and holds a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering.
