Baseload Basics

This session is aimed at using a customer’s energy bill and total usage as a tool to help better understand the impact that lifestyle choices make on the cost of heating/cooling their home. We will discuss what baseload is and how it differs from seasonal heating or cooling load. We will also discuss some low-cost/no-cost options that customers can take in their own homes to help better manage their energy burdens. The session is a basic skills course aimed at increasing the attendee’s knowledge and making them “better experts” to help address the contributing factors to a client’s energy bill.

1. Learn what baseload is and how to calculate it
2. Learn what affects baseload and what does not
3. Learn real solutions for addressing high baseload in customer homes
